Chestnut Hill Philadelphia Engagement Marissa + John

Marissa and John’s sunrise change the date session started tucked back in the forbidden drive of Wissahickon park and finished at Cake in Chestnut Hill. Marissa wanted to have a different style and feel to her change the date photos, and they also brought a cake made by Kerri’s Cake’s and Creations with their change the date on it! It was fitting that their change the date took place in a fall setting just like how they met!

THEIR LOVE STORY

John and Marissa met at Kean University and of course John was immediately taken with how beautiful Marissa is. Marissa on the other hand found John annoyed her and didn’t really take the opportunity to pursue getting to know him. Later she began to see how sweet and caring he was especially to his family. To this day Johns dedication to his family is one of the qualities Marissa admires most about him. They began to date in August 2015 and their first date took place at a hibachi restaurant ending with ice cream at dairy quean! Marissa was so nervous and struggled to find the perfect outfit to wear! Almost exactly four years later in 2019 John decided to ask the question! Weeks in advance John planned a trip for his birthday with the help of family and friends. They drove up to Atlantic City where the room was decorated with balloons surrounding a drawn out heart with rose petals led by tiny tea lights as well as their future wedding song playing in the background. Marissa initially ran over to hug her sister because she knew she had set it up. When Marissa realized what was happening she walked over to the center of the room with the heart made of rose petals. John got down on one knee and asked Marissa to Marry him. Marissa said yes of course and teared up as she tried to walk away to cry. However, little did she know John had another surprise planned. The evening followed with an engagement dinner party with both of their families and a surprise trip to their favorite place on earth to celebrate, Disney World. They will be making their vows to one another on July 17, 2020 at St. Rose of Lima followed by a reception with friends and family.
