Implementing a meaningful location for you and your partner during your engagement photos is a perfect way to celebrate this special time in your lives. For Kaitlin and Tommy, it was important to be able to look back at their Long Island engagement photos and have them tell their story. In this case, their Planting Fields Long Island engagement was more than just a beautiful place. It was a place of meaning and beauty.
Kaitlin and Tommy first met in high school at their local golf course. They share a love for golf and even were both working there so fate was hard at work. It wouldn’t be until college that their story began and they started dating. Even both of them ended up playing on the same golf team! Now going strong for nine years, they are ready to take the next step in becoming one.

The Planting Fields Arboretum is more than just a beautiful estate to take photos, especially for Kaitlin and Tommy. To them, it was a milestone in their relationship. One of the first places they ever went on a date, which made it all the more special. When choosing where to take your Long Island engagement photos, you can also think about where you will be displaying your images. If you’re planning on using them for either save-the-dates or on your wedding website, having a consistent theme may be important for you. In this case, Kaitlin and Tommy wanted to keep their color scheme relatively similar to their wedding. With light blues, whites, and eucalyptus greens, the Planting Fields Arboretum embodied a similar color palette which would pair beautifully with the rest of their wedding decor.
It was June, so peak Summer weather when Kaitlin, Tommy, and I embarked on this beautiful journey to Planting Fields Arboretum. Here we explored archways, fountains, and gardens and had the most charming time celebrating their engagement.
