Daniella and Michael’s August wedding at Curtis Arboretum was a celebration defined by natural beauty, intentional design, and timeless elegance. Located just outside of Philadelphia, this historic garden venue created the perfect setting for a summer wedding that felt romantic, refined, and effortless.

Daniella & Michael’s Wedding Day at Curtis Arboretum

One of the things Daniella loved most about Curtis Arboretum was how seamlessly the venue flows throughout the day. Rather than feeling repetitive, each part of the celebration felt distinct and purposeful.

There were four unique spaces used for their wedding day — one for the ceremony, another for cocktail hour, a separate area for dinner, and a dedicated space for dancing. As a result, guests experienced the property in a way that felt immersive and thoughtfully planned.

The day began with detail photographs and quiet moments before the ceremony. Daniella’s gown was picked up from the hotel and brought directly to the venue. This allowed us to photograph her dress in one of her favorite locations — the Blue Ballroom — where classic architecture and soft light created an elegant backdrop.

A Summer Garden Wedding Filled With Natural Light

As the afternoon unfolded, natural light played a leading role. Because Curtis Arboretum is surrounded by lush gardens and mature trees, every outdoor space felt calm and romantic. Weather permitting, Daniella envisioned spending as much time outside as possible, and fortunately, the day allowed for exactly that.

When the ceremony began, everything slowed. Daniella shared that she was most excited about walking down the aisle, wearing a beautiful dress, and finally saying “I do.” In that moment, surrounded by their closest family and friends, the emotion of the day truly set in.

After the ceremony, we moved into group and individual portraits with their bridal party. Because of the venue’s layout, portraits felt relaxed rather than rushed. Meanwhile, the gardens provided endless options for natural, light-filled imagery.

An Effortless Transition Into the Evening

As the sun lowered, the celebration transitioned into cocktail hour and dinner beneath the tent. Soft light filtered through the space, creating an inviting and elegant atmosphere. Soon after, the evening flowed naturally into dancing and celebration.

Because Curtis Arboretum offers separate spaces for each portion of the day, guests experienced something new at every turn. As a result, the reception felt dynamic while still remaining intimate and connected.
