Nora & Will met back when they were in college. After Nora left that school, they didn’t reconnect until almost a year later. Ever since they reconnected, however, they have been inseparable. It wasn’t until two years ago when both Nora and Will made the move to Seattle, Washington for Will’s job that he popped the question. It was a low-key Sunday morning with breakfast in bed when Will proposed to Nora and it was pure and utter bliss. They are big on traveling and exploring so when they wanted to have their Vizcaya Museum & Gardens engagement photos, immediately I said Y-E-S.

For Nora and Will’s engagement photos, I made my way to the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in sunny Miami, Florida. This now-Miami museum is a waterfront estate home that was built back in 1916. Surrounding you are 10 acres of formal gardens and a stunning estate on the property with a total of 32 decorated rooms. The Vizcaya Museum & Gardens is perfect if you’re looking to host your wedding, event, or engagement photos. The scenery and landscaping are just divine and are definitely a must-see location especially if you’re looking to have any formal photos taken here.

Do You Need A Permit To Shoot at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens?

When you choose to have your photo shoot at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, you will need to purchase a photo permit. This permit covers access to the gardens but not the main estate house.

• A regular photo permit on a weekday costs $250 + tax while a weekend photo permit costs $350 + tax
• If you’re wanting to shoot sunrise at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, you’re looking at a permit cost of $450 + tax
• Wanting to shoot in the main estate house at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens? Then you’re looking at a permit cost of $750 + tax.

Miami Engagement Photos at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

It was a gorgeous day in Miami. For these engagement photos, Nora and Will really wanted to focus on timeless elegance. They really wanted to focus on having their photos be beautiful and not definitive of “the times”. But rather, they want to look back at their images and always have them be absolutely classic, no matter when they were to look at them. I understood this vision completely and I couldn’t wait for us to get started.

We wandered throughout the property at the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. Soaking up the gorgeous perfectly cut lawns, landscaping, and sculptures. Their wardrobes for this engagement shoot were absolutely divine as well as complemented each other perfectly. Which by the way, should be a number one priority when it comes to deciding your engagement photo attire.

Surrounding us were gorgeous photo locations such as Vizcaya Museum & Gardens Tea House, The Secret Garden, The Theater Garden, and The Maze Garden. Each is completely unique in design which made photographing at this beautiful Miami wedding venue that much more beautiful.

Nora & Will were absolutely stunning during their Miami engagement session and I can’t wait to continue documenting their love story on their wedding day!
