Throughout the global pandemic, so many couples found themselves leaning towards social media apps to help with their dating life. Many couples, in fact, are getting married all from a few swipes and clicks connecting them with their true love. Chantel and Emile, are one of those couples. Through the power of the internet, a strong wifi connection, and their dying need to get to know each other, these two met and are now getting married. This Longwood Gardens Spring engagement with Chantel and Emile was one that was filled with a lot of beauty, love, and cherishment. Three things that I can only hope everyone gets to experience in their life.

Chantel & Emile’s Love Story

As I mentioned above, Chantel and Emile met through an online dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel. After a few interactions and stumbling upon one another, Emile asked Chantel out for dinner. It was after that first date that their connection only grew stronger. An online dating app to first date meetup led to Emile falling in love with Chantel’s big heart and inquisitive nature and Chantel falling for Emile’s sense of adventure and kindness. These attributes were one of a kind to one another and one of the driving factors into this next step in their journey together.

The Proposal

The “right moment” never seems to exist when it comes to asking the love of your life to marry you. However, it’s the execution that often has people stumped. Luckily, Emile was able to execute the perfect proposal to Chantel and make it a memory they both will never forget. On a trip to Penn’s Landing, Emile had come up with the perfect plan. This plan consisted of having an “art student” approach both of them to draw them for an assignment. This art student, however, turned this piece into a caricature of Emile proposing to Chantel. A heart with the words “Will you marry me?” plastered on this canvas. Naturally, Chantel said yes and their love story took a step towards forever.

It was after, that Emile had their families join in for a surprise dinner at Fogo de Chao after the proposal. It was the perfect addition to the next chapter in their love story.

Longwood Gardens | Kennett Square, Pennsylvania

Longwood Gardens is a botanical garden that consists of over 1,077 acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows. There is a wide variety of flora, greenery, and beautiful architecture which makes it a destination location for engagement photos.

Permit & Photography Information

Longwood Gardens does allow you to shoot photo/video here without a permit. However, your photoshoot must take place while the Gardens are open to the public. You are also required to purchase a general admissions ticket in order for you to enter. Tickets start at $25 per person.

Emile & Chantel’s Longwood Gardens Spring Engagement

For their engagement session, Emile and Chantel wanted to keep things classic, and traditional but with a mix of some candid moments and laughter. Seeing that they both don’t get their photos taken professionally often, it was important to have them looking and feeling confident in front of the lens.

We were able to wander through the gardens soaking up as much beauty as possible. Despite not having much experience in front of the camera, these two flowed beautifully together. In sync the entire time, Emile and Chantel prove to be head-over-heels in love with each other.

First, we started in the Conservatory, before doing a quick outfit change to get a bit more of a formal look at the Main Fountain Garden. In this Main Fountain Garden area, you have gardens, fountains, and pillared structures that pull inspiration from European architecture. This area always tends to be my favorite, and hopefully looking back on these images you can see why.
