Sarah and Teddy’s Summer NYC Engagement in Central Park was everything your younger self always dreamed of. As a New York Wedding Photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing Sarah and Teddy’s love story against the iconic backdrop of Manhattan’s most beloved Central Park. The way the sun filtered through the trees created the perfect atmosphere for their romantic editorial-esque engagement session.
When Sarah and Teddy first reached out about their NYC engagement session, I knew we were the perfect match. Homebase for Sarah and Teddy is actually along the West Coast in the sunny city of Los Angeles. While planning their dreamy 2025 Paris wedding they wanted me to capture a piece of New York’s magic during a quick trip to the city. Sarah and Teddy wanted to celebrate their engagement in a city where love flourishes and gives them the opportunity to get the romantic-editorial feel that they were looking for.
Being all the way across the country, planning for a destination engagement session may seem like a daunting task. However, for Sarah and Teddy, the idea of planning an engagement session in a completely different city didn’t seem to bad when you have a photographer who is well versed in the area. For those of you newly engaged brides wanting to plan a destination engagement session, here are some of my top tips that help ensure a smooth and seamless experience.
The art of crafting your perfect destination engagement session begins with timeline planning. Ideally I recommend securing your photographer at least 3-4 months in advance, particularly if you’re eyeing peak season dates (Spring-Fall). Photographers tend to book out weeks in advance so to avoid any chance of missing an opportunity to work with your preferred photographer, it’s best ot plan as far ahead in advance as possible.
Key Timeline Details:
Orchestrating a destination engagement session requires detailed preparation beyond just booking your photographer. Considering your travel arrangements should also be a big priority when planning out a destination engagement. Ideally you want to arrive to your destination at least 24 hours prior to your session. This will allow you to settle in, refresh, and immerse yourself in the new and exciting location.
Essential Travel Tips
While there are so many opportunities for gorgeous NYC engagement photos, here are a few of my top fave photo spots in Central Park.
As Sarah and Teddy strolled through Central Park on this radiant Summer evening, their love shined through every frame. Sarah’s white maxi dress caught the golden light and moved effortlessly with each step she took. Teddy’s tailored navy suit provided the perfect complement, his attention always fixed on his bride-to-be. We ventured to some of Central Park’s iconic landmarks such as the Bethesda Terrace & Fountain. The fountain provided a stunning backdrop as Sarah and Teddy shared laughs and tender embraces. Everything about this NYC engagement was pure love and magic. These photos not only documented their engagement but preserved the essence of their love story within timeless New York.
As a New York Wedding Photographer, I believe in creating an unforgettable experience that goes beyond traditional engagement photos. Whether you’re planning a destination wedding like Sarah and Teddy or simply want to capture your love story in one of the world’s most iconic locations, a Central Park engagement session offers the perfect blend of nature and urban sophistication.
