Who loves love, has a camera, and easily has her bags packed for any adventure? This Philadelphia wedding photographer is right here. MTA will never pass up on the opportunity to fly halfway across the world to document a love story. Flying to one of my favorite cities, Paris, to document these Editorial Destination Paris Engagement Photos was an absolute dream. Recently, MTA documented this gorgeous Springtime Destination Elopement Paris Wedding and I can tell you that this city never gets old.
For these editorial destination Paris engagement photos we wanted to focus on a very lived-in feel. While still very elegant and high class, we didn’t want the attire to completely stand out from the normal traditional Parisian style. We fully wanted to embody the Parisian culture and this is how they turned out!
Having a destination Paris engagement session may be at the top of your bucket list. However, don’t go buying your plane tickets just yet. Here are a few tips to consider before booking your destination Paris engagement.
This goes without saying, but most of us are not jet-setting to Paris for a day or weekend. Or maybe some of you are, in this case, woohoo! In the chance that you’re not, however, I encourage you to turn this destination engagement session into a whole experience. You’re going to be in one of the most magical cities, the City of Love. Find out some local favorite coffee shops to grab some breakfast before your shoot and book a dinner reservation at a restaurant you’ve always wanted to try after the shoot. It helps build out the entire experience for you and your partner and has you quite literally, living the dream.
MTA is a huge proponent of investing in your engagement session. That includes investing in quality hair and makeup artists that will have you looking and feeling your best. Hair and makeup play a huge role in how your engagement photos turn out, so doing your research is going to be key! Connecting with local hair and makeup artists in the area in advance will allow you to get rid of all of the stress of getting ready. Below are just a few Paris hair and makeup artists you can check out for your destination Paris engagement photos.
One thing about Paris is that you are going to do a lot of walking. While public transport is easily accessible, there are so many beautiful corners of this city that you’re not going to miss. With that being said, packing comfortable clothes and shoes is a must to ensure an easygoing Paris engagement session. If you want to wear heels for the duration of your engagement session, I always recommend packing an extra pair of either sandals or flats to change into. Feeling uncomfortable in any setting is not ideal, especially when you’re experiencing this magical city. So always come prepared and thank me later!
It’s best that before you start packing your bags for your destination Paris engagement, you plan your outfits especially according to the weather. As we know, we can never really rely on the weatherman. However, it’s best practice to keep an eye on the weather for your travel dates and ensure that your outfits coordinate with your shoot date. The last thing we want is for you to be dripping sweat in your attire because it’s too hot or to shiver because you’re too cold. Packing for a normal trip can be stressful enough, so planning your outfits in advance and having backup options will be your saving grace.
It was a beautiful day in Paris, France. The sun was playing peekaboo behind the clouds, giving us the perfect weather for this destination Paris engagement. With views of the Eiffel Tower behind us, we kept this first portion of the engagement session very sexy and sultry. Through side streets and stone steps, we made our way to the town center. Here we found cute cafés and restaurants, one of them being Café du Mexique. In true Parisian fashion, we sat down and people-watched, really soaking in the ambiance. We made sure to stop and admire some French-made luxury brands such as Dior and Chanel. Which again, emphasized a very luxurious feel that we wanted for this destination Paris engagement. At the end of the session, we felt immersed in the culture and loved every bit of how these photos turned out.
