Jill and Stephen chose the beautiful Sayen House and Gardens for their engagement session! We love this location and it was absolutely perfect for the two of them. We were even accompanied by their adorable dog Eve and if an adorable pup wasn’t enough to make this session extra special she even wore a bandana that said “My Humans are Getting Married!” Jill put such thought in to their outfits and brought three amazing choices! Nearing the end of their session we had some gorgeous light and a romantic willow tree!

Their Love Story

Stephen and Jill met back in 2011 at a mutual friends party. They quickly ran in to each other later that week at work! Thats right they worked together and they didn’t even know it! They were both working at Shoprite at the time and Jill was working in the floral department while Stephen was working across the store in the frozen section! After they realized they worked at the same store they quickly began flirting back and forth with one another and sneaking away from their departments to meet with one another!

When Steve took the initiative to ask Jill on a date she quickly said yes, but was immediately filled with nerves! Mostly because she was scared her dad would give Steve the “quiz” when he came to pick her up to take her to Blackbeard’s cave for mini golf! She specifically told her dad not to invite him in and simply shake his hand and let them get on their way. Well Jill was right about one thing and as soon as Steve knocked on the door her dad shook his hand and said “come on in!” However, she underestimated Steve’s ability to pass the quiz!

Years later Steve decided it was time to pop the big question! Jill had a sneaky suspicion that it may be coming and anticipated it sometime in December. Jill remembers talking to a co-worker and her saying “girl you better get those nails done!” Well her co-worker was right because He proposed that evening on December 16, 2019 and she says “my nails looked horrible!” However, none of that mattered when she was saying yes to spending her forever with the love of her life!

Steve decided to ask Jill to marry him at their favorite Italian restaurant. While the two were out to dinner Jill’s dad went over to the house and changed Eve’s bandana to one that said “Will You Marry My Dad?” When Jill got home she noticed that Eve’s bandana was different and as she spun it around to see what it said Steve got down on one knee and proposed! Although Jill suspected that it was coming she was shocked, in tears, and beyond thrilled that Steve incorporated Eve in to the proposal!

When we first met with Jillian I remember being super impressed with her attention to detail and the immense thought she had already began putting in to their special day. I also loved how she expressed Steve’s interest in the small details and was so willing to include him in the entire process. Her bubbly personality is absolutely infectious and I could not wait to meet Steve and see the two of them together! After spending the evening with them at their engagement session it was clear to me that they are a perfect fit! They are both so caring for one another, constantly making decisions as a team, and they could not stop laughing with one another. We cannot wait to capture their special day on July 9, 2021 at the breathtaking Brigalias!
