You know how there are some things that just warms your heart every single time? For some of you this may be the smell of a campfire or the leaves turning from green to red. For me, it’s cherry blossom season and what better way to enjoy freshly bloomed cherry blossom’s than with a STUNNING engagement session. Erin and Tom are surrounding their wedding day with a romantic, whimsical and soft pink color palette. Knowing this, their Divine Park at Spring Lake NJ engagement photos checked all of the boxes. We explored this gorgeous park before hitting the town and finishing off their session with some ocean waves.
Fate works in mysterious ways. Erin and Tom actually grew up in the same town and attended the same highschool. However, it wasn’t until years later when they met on a dating app that they connected. It was almost instant that their connection took off and from there, they were inseparable. Tom surprised Erin after coming home from a work trip. Their home was completely decorated for Christmas and ontop of the tree was Tom’s question to Erin. Naturally, we all know what Erin’s response was because here we are!
The cherry blossoms were freshly bloomed at Divine Park in Spring Lake, NJ. Divine Park is a beautiful location for engagement photos but especially for some Spring engagement photos. The florals were breathtaking and a great greeting for a beautiful engagement session with Erin and Tom. We wandered throughout Divine Park soaking with the scenery and really capturing the essence of that light, bright and airy ambiance that Divine Park radiates naturally.
While Divine Park serves as a perfect New Jersey engagement location, we wanted to make sure we covered all of our bases. Erin and Tom not only wanted the ethereal feel of an engagement session at a park, but also a more vogue-esque inspired downtown feel. With a quick outfit change we made our way to Downtown Spring Lake where we switched up the tone just a bit.
For the pièce de résistance, we made our way to Spring Lake Beach for our final destination. Erin and Tom wanted the flowy, laid-back feel of a beach engagement session and we were going to get it! The way these two moved in front of the camera was astonishing and so graceful and beautiful. The waves crashing behind us, the sunset and that beautiful sea breeze was the perfect ending to their engagement session. It was dreamy, ethereal, magical and everything you would want your NJ Spring engagement session to be.
Can’t wait to reunite once again this September for their wedding at The Ryland Inn!
One of the biggest tips that I can give you as a Philadelphia and New Jersey Wedding Photographer while planning your New Jersey engagement session is this. Be open and honest with yourself and your wedding photographer. Communication is key in any relationship, but especially with someone who is taking your photos for such a special time in your life. Being able to be open and honest with your like’s and dislikes as well as communicating that will SAVE you. Your wedding photographer (aka me) wants nothing more than for you to fall in love with your engagement photos. We can’t do that if we don’t know what exactly you’re looking for! So before you go into your engagement session, really sit and think about the kind of photos you’re looking for, any insecurities you may have and voice that with your photographer. Trust me, we will listen!
Over the years I have had my fair share of stunning spring engagement sessions. Planning your engagement session can be a fun and hectic experience all in one, so having the right inspiration is key. Below is some inspiration for your upcoming New Jersey Spring engagement photos!
